All About Me

I was born in 1976 in San Francisco. My father was a biologist and my mother, a school teacher. I started creating art when I was very young — my first medium was photography, followed closely by sculpture. I didn't start painting until I was 16 years old.

I am severely mentally ill. My diagnosis is Schizoaffective Disorder — Bipolar Type. Schizoaffective Disorder is like having schizophrenia and bipolar disorder at the same time. Dealing with it is a full time job. I have doctors, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, and many other people helping me. How I like to put it is: being severely mentally ill is a severe pain in the ass.

My family moved around a lot when I was young, so I never made any close friends, and I do not have anywhere to call home. I have lived in Colorado for over a decade, but it does not feel like home, and I have no friends, or, really, any social outlet. I tend to stick around the house.

I sketch and paint, and I take it very seriously. Just for fun I play around with writing. If I ever write anything worth sharing I'll put it on my web site.
